TOINE THYS - MOTOÏ KANAMORI ‘BANDO’ cd release tour

A familiar and respected figure in Belgian jazz, saxophonist Toine Thys invites Japanese double bassist Motoï Kanamori, whom he met in Tokyo. A deep connection, cemented by shared sincerity and rigorous execution precision, has been established between the two musicians, transcending borders and cultures. Their collaboration radiates a highly communicative energy.

To flesh out this new lineup, Toine Thys and Motoï Kanamori called upon the new elite generation of Belgian jazz. On piano, the prodigy Wajdi Riahi brings a harmonic richness and inventiveness, recognized for having won over audiences in solo and trio performances. On drums, the highly promising Portuguese drummer Diogo Alexandre is unanimously praised for his intensity and musicality.

They will give a series of concerts to present their album (Hypnote Records): they will be in Belgium from November 27, 2026, to December 6, 2026.
